I was working today, and got a text from Dale Boyer. He asked me if I knew why there was a fence around the Rodeway Inn. I honestly have no idea why it is there, and that’s what I told him. Today was the start of a new job. I work at American Fire Protection in Nampa, Idaho, doing the bookkeeping and payroll as well as other office tasks. Originally, I went in for the interview yesterday and was offered the job right away, without really an official interview. I was going to turn it down, because there are no benefits and the pay was not really the greatest. (more…)
A very somber day today. As I pulled in today, even more was gone. The wagon out front of the hotel. The shed in the alleyway was gone. The only purpose in my visit today was for Chris to come and pickup the walk-in freezer which he purchased at the auction.
The auction is over with. I had to go down to the Hotel today from 9am, until who knows how late so that this Industrial Hygiene guy can finish his inspection. In the back of my mind, I really don’t care because I am wanting to be done with this whole Hotel thing.
Another very interesting day today. The live auction happened yesterday, and today is the 2nd and final day for people to pick up their purchases. Today, Dale and I are here until 6pm. In addition to that, Chris Peters, from AMRESCO Commercial Finance wanted us to drain the remainder of the pool today.
I showed up at the Hotel to do one thing before I ran to Tates Rents to get the pump, and there were people in the building. I was trying to figure out how they got into the building. The only thing that I could think of, was that when M&T Security came through the building overnight, that they didn’t make sure it was fully closed. No one was able to get into any of the rooms, but the point is still the same. I got back with the pump, and Dale started to drain the pool the rest of the way. (more…)

The hotel received a letter at the P.O. Box today from an attorney’s office in Maryland. The letter alleges that Mr. Benjamin Slavic (name was changed to protect the innocent) wants to be compensated $500,000. Yes, you read that correctly. The letter alleges that Mr. Slavic checked into the hotel on July 27, for 8 nights and was also charged for the same. The letter continues to state that Mr. Slavic returned to the hotel that night and I had told him he needed to leave and had packed his belongings in violation of Mr. Slavic’s civil rights. It gets funnier, “Mr. Slavic paid $545.00 without being allowed to stay at the hotel”.
