Today was day one of the Auction at the Rodeway Inn. The auction is being put on by Corbett Auctions from Kuna. There are a lot of mixed emotions today. There were a lot of items that went for cheaper than I expected, and other items that went for more than I expected. I bought the long “Feed Store” sign which had hung up in the dining room since the arrival of Jo Fryberger to the Lounge back in 2009. I also had purchased the Rodeway Inn, hand carved wood sign which was at the front desk. Very simple, but they meant a lot to me.

Dale Boyer and I were there from about 8 in the morning till 5 at night. The auction took the majority of the day; the remainder was for people to collect their new purchases. Some people didn’t come prepared at all considering, they knew they were coming to an auction. We finally got everyone to leave by about 6:30 pm, even though it was supposed to be done at 5pm. I love watching people realize how dumb they are. I seriously had people tell me that they have to drive 2 plus hours back home and then load up their stuff and they don’t have enough room to haul it all.

Now we spent about 30 to 45 minutes walking the hallways. In this process, we had to open up every single door, and make sure the sliders were shut and secure so that no one could get in. This was depressing also, because then we saw some of the rooms fully empty. I know all good things must come to an end, but it is still hard. Then we made sure all the outside entrances were locked and secure and I dropped Dale off at his house.
