Earlier today, at 5:52 pm, I felt something I had never before felt in my lifetime. Shortly before that, I was working from home (day #11 of working from home). I felt a small vibration and my neighbors had just got home, so I didn’t think anything of it. I thought maybe they just bumped the building. The vibration calmed, and then suddenly a big shaking of the building. As my niece, Sophi Baldwin, put it “It felt like giants were shaking the building”. This lasted for just a matter of about 50 seconds, felt much longer than that. Just after we felt it was done, we went outside to see what was going on, and most of the residents of our complex were standing on their front porch / patios. The awesome thing was that everyone was checking on everyone else to make sure that we were all okay. Turns out there was no harm or injury caused to anyone.
I was still trying to get some work done, but couldn’t manage to focus or stay focused. I tried and got some work done. As I was working, Krissie turned on the news and they were talking about it. Turns out the earthquake was a magnitude of 6.5, and the epicenter was just west of Challis, Idaho. Challis is about 75 miles from Boise. Also was stated this was the 2nd largest earthquake in the world in the last 30 days.
