I have never really gotten into politics.  However, since I started blogging and especially since I started reading Mike’s Blogs, then I have started to get into politics more than I previously have been.  Thanks Mike, it has been fun and I hope to continue.

A Billion Dollars

The next time you hear a politician use the word ‘billion’ in a casual manner, think about whether you want the ‘politicians’ spending your tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of it’s releases.

  1. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
  2. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
  3. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
  4. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
  5. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

Gas could hit $8 a gallon

If a bill that comes out of Congress in June ever passes and is signed into law, then a new federal bureaucracy would be formed to manage the complicated new tax called cap & trade.  This would be all to pacify the Global Warming pessimists here and abroad. And then to drastically raise taxes on gasoline. Can you say five to eight dollars a gallon? Does that sound like a plan to you?  I certainly don’t think so.

What is a Conservative?

I saw this on Mike’s Blog, and I really liked it, so I thought I would also post it too. “To be a conservative is, in my definition, is somebody that believes in the power of the individual, somebody that believes, please let me make my decisions, that I have Read more…

State of the Nation

I have been doing a lot of thinking about the upcoming Presidential elections in November.  I am a big supporter of Mitt Romney, and think that he is/was the only true conservative.  I was reading Michael’s blog about Uniting the GOP.  I also don’t think I could vote for John Read more…

Bush and a stupid reporter.

This is actually pretty funny.  I just saw it on another blog, and laughed quite a bit.  President Bush basically just told the reporter to “Shut Up”.  Not in those exact words, but in a round-about way. I don’t think I have ever seen something like this before.
